You Can Go Green At Home Every Day at Park Del Amo

Did you know that nearly one billion trees’ worth of paper is thrown away every year in the United States? That is a lot of trees! If we were to recycle one ton of paper, every ton could save up to 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, and six months’ worth of electricity in the average American household.

Here at Park Del Amo Apartment Homes, we want to do all we can to protect the environment and go green—not just by preserving water, but also by reducing unnecessary waste. Here are three ways we are environmentally friendly at Park Del Amo.

We Use Water Sparingly

Since Lakewood is prone to droughts, we are careful with the amount of water we use. First, our property has drought-tolerant landscaping, which means we use native desert plants that don’t require as much water to survive. We have also installed a drip irrigation system and replaced some grass and mulch areas with beautiful stone. This allows us to save gallons of water while keeping our community looking beautiful.

Indoors, we save on water with our plumbing system. You may not know this, but the average toilet uses about 3.5 gallons of water every time it is flushed. At Park Del Amo, we have low-flow toilets , which use 20 percent less water than regular toilets. Each low-flow toilet can save up to 13,000 gallons of water per year!

We Reduce Paper and Plastic Use

At Park Del Amo, we are completely paperless. This means that we do everything—rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—online. Not only is this convenient for our residents, but it eliminates the need for unnecessary paper waste.

In our community, we strive to provide quality services to help make your life as a resident a little easier. Visit our new resident portal to pay your rent online, enter a maintenance service request, browse our calendar for upcoming activities, and much more!

We Encourage Recycling

Recycling is one of the best ways to go green. We have recycling bins in our office, and we also encourage all residents to recycle. You can recycle items such as empty cans, containers, plastic bottles, paper, and flattened cardboard. Remember not to recycle food, plastic wrap, liquid, plastic bags, or cups with wax or plastic coating.

Here in Lakewood, you can take your recycling to Sunset Recycling Center . This small change in habit can make a big difference for our planet.

We’re Excited to Announce Organic Waste Recycling!

Organic waste recycling will be coming soon to our local community, and we can’t wait to participate! This initiative will help keep millions of pounds of food waste out of landfills and turn them into compost and renewable natural gas. We’ll keep you up to date as this program expands throughout the state.

We want to do everything we can to care for our environment and encourage others to go green. If you are looking for a community that cares about the planet as much as you do, Park Del Amo Apartments may be the perfect home for you! Call us today for more information.
